1. Blackfin Ultra CX 10’6” (Top Pick)
Features:

- Weight: 19.8 Lbs
- Maximum Capacity: 320 Lbs
- Materials: Cross Threaded drop stitch with carbon rails
Total Rating 8.8 / 10 (Based on Below Averages)

- Fins 8.5
- Set-Up/ Take Down – 9
The Blackfin Ultra CX is our top pick due to its quick and nimble on-water performance, combined with its compact packaging. The length of this SUP bag takes up less room because the board can fold in half vertically. Meaning you can fold both rails together for a more compact fold. This is ideal if you are tight on space or you want to have enough room for 2 SUPs in the trunk of your car.
The board is very nimble in the water and is very fun to paddle, thanks to its narrow tail and pointed nose. I should mention, though, that this will not be the most stable SUP to paddle for beginners who are taller because of the board’s more pointed shape. However, I like to think of SUPs like I would a bicycle; the more you ride them, the better you get!
This package also comes with an electric pump and a handy accessory pack for the smaller items that come with the package, like the fins, instructions, pump, hose and spare fin clips. The electric pump is a huge plus because it makes life a heck of a lot easier when setting up the board. It also saves you time as it automates the pumping for you while you can go and organize all the items you need for your SUP adventure.

Pros
- The board is super fun to paddle as it’s responsive
- Quick in the water, this board accelerates quickly!
- Comes with a well-thought-out tidy package
- Comes with an electric pump
- Fits most sized trunks easily
Cons
- Won’t be the most stable board for taller individuals
- It can take some time to get used to standing if you are not used to inflatable paddle boards
2. Isle Pioneer Pro 10’6” (Construction Pick)
Features:
- Dimensions: 10’6” X 34” X 6”
- Weight: 23 Lbs

The Isle Pioneer Pro may just be the most rigid board I’ve ever stood on. It’s a fantastic package that features top-of-the-line construction materials, which feature Air Tech Plus coupled with Cross Infinity Fiber Technology. This Infinity Fiber technology is another layer that acts as a stiffener that rolls up as soon as it’s folded. Kind of like one of those roller rulers that collapsed as soon as you put it on your wrist. This technology provides extra stiffening as well as an extra layer of protection for the SUP.
On Top of that, the board is very stable on the water and can be used by just about anybody. This is definitely one of the most stable SUPs I’ve ever stood on, and it is also a great board for recreational paddling.
On top of all this, the Isle Pioneer Pro comes with a full package that includes a kayak seat, foot rest, SUP and kayak paddle attachment (probably my favorite kayak hybrid paddle I’ve tested to date), as well as a big wheeled bag. One of my favorite onboard features of this board is the Isle Link system, which uses little loops that surround the entire board. You can use this to attach your kayak seat, deck bungees, and foot rest anywhere you like instead of just relying on a couple of one-size-fits-all D rings.
You can see the Full Isle Pioneer Pro 10’6” Review here.
Pros
- Accessory-rich package that comes with a lot of stuff
- I love the versatility of the Isle Link System
- One of the best-constructed boards I’ve tested
- The kayak seat that comes with the package is comfortable
- Stable in the water and good for most paddlers
Cons
- The package is not cheap
- The board is meant more for recreational paddling due to its shape
3. Sea Gods Diatom Ten6 10’6” (Yoga Pick)
Features:
- Dimensions: 10’6” X 34” X 6”
- Weight: 23 Lbs
- Maximum Capacity: 300 Lbs
- Material: Cross Infinity Fiber technology with welded seams and fusion layering known as Air Tech Plus
One of, if not the most beautiful boards on this list, the Sea Gods Diatom Ten6 is a great option for those who want a very stable board and want to look good while paddling. This SUP is also a great pick for SUP Yoga thanks to its wider width and its embossed deck padding that mimics a yoga mat.
I tested this board back when I was doing the Sea Gods paddling clinic, and I found the board to be super stable and manueverable. It’s not the fastest board on the list, but it certainly is a great pick for a paddler who wants a lightweight board that will last for a long time.
Sea Gods Paddle Boards come with a Lifetime product warranty, which covers the product’s life span ranging from 5-8 years with proper care. This is one of the longest warranties from any of the other picks on this list.
The Diatom design is done by Ira Markovka, who draws detailed floral designs inspired by nature herself.
The Ten6 comes with a good-quality bag with wheels and plenty of handles to help you grab it out of the trunk. A solid quality paddle, dual chamber triple action pump, as well as the repair kit, set-up towel, and clip-in fin.
Pros
- The board is very beginner-friendly.
- The board is lightweight, making it easy to carry to the shoreline
- Has a solid accessory package included
- Has a very unique artist-drawn design imprinted
Cons
- Has an expensive price point
- Tracking ability is just okay
4. iRocker Cruiser Ultra CX 10’6” (Portability Pick)
Features:
- Dimensions: 10’6” X 33” X 6”
- Weight: 21 Lbs
- Maximum Capacity: 300 Lbs
- Material: Cross-thread drop-stitch construction
Total Rating 8.6 / 10 (Based on Below Averages)
- On-Water Performance – 7.9
- Stability 8.5
- Tracking 7.5
- Speed 7.5
- Maneuverability 8
- SUP Construction – 9
- Board Features – 8.5
- Deck Pad 9
- D Rings 8.5
- Deck Bungees 8.5
- Action Mounts: 7.5
- Handles 9
- Accessories – 8.6
- Backpack 9.5
- Paddle 7.5
- Pump 9
- Fins 8.5
- Set-Up/ Take Down – 9
The Cruiser Ultra CX offers a good all-around board for those who want a SUP that offers a mix of good tracking, glide, maneuverability, and stability. It won’t be the best board on this list at any one of these, but it provides a solid mix that is good for most paddlers of various skill sets.
This board, like the Blackfin Ultra CX, offers a compact package that folds in half. Making it a smaller, more compact bag that can hold all of the necessary amenities, such as a pump, 4 4-piece paddle, and a pouch that holds the electric pump and other smaller accessories like the fins, extra clips, etc.
One of the biggest selling points of the iRocker Cruiser is the fact that the board comes with an electric pump. As someone who prefers an electric pump to do the pumping for you, I definitely appreciate the inclusion. The iRocker pumps are one of the higher-rated pumps and were rated #2 on our Best SUP electric pumps list.
You can see the Full iRocker Cruise Ultra CX Review here.
Pros
- Great all-around board that has solid on-water performance metrics in all areas
- The board is fairly stable which bodes well for most beginner paddlers
- Folds up vertically and is compact
Cons
- Finding a folding pattern can take some time
- Handle Placement is in the way of where you often kneel while on the board
5. Nixy Newport G5 10’6” (Small Paddler Pick)
Features:
- Dimensions: 10’6” X 3” X 6”
- Weight: 21 Lbs
- Maximum Capacity: 300 Lbs
- Materials: Advanced Welded Seams, Dual Layer FusionTech, Laminated Woven Drop Stitch
Total Rating 8.5 / 10 (Based on Below Averages)
- On-Water Performance – 8
- Stability 7.5
- Tracking 7
- Speed 8.5
- Maneuverability 9
- SUP Construction – 9
- Board Features – 8.4
- Deck Pad 8.5
- D Rings 8
- Deck Bungee Placement 8.5
- Action Mounts 9
- Handles 8
- Accessories – 8
- Fins 8
- Set-Up/ Take Down – 9
The Newport G5 is a fun board to use and grow with. I still have my G4 model, which I absolutely love. While it’s not the most stable board on the list for taller/ bigger beginner paddlers, it is a very manueverable and nimble ISUP. This board is best suited for small to medium paddlers. Or bigger/ taller paddlers who have some experience with paddle boards.
In terms of Onboard features, this board offers 2 rows of bungee deck webbing at the front and 3 rows in the back, which is a feature I appreciate. I personally always like to have the items onboard that I reach for the most in the front, and the bigger stuff that I use once or twice per trip on the back. It also comes with 5 action mounts to place things like rod holders, cup holders, speaker holders, etc.
The Newport G4 would have been high up on this list, but in 2024, Nixy rolled out the G5 series. The G5 has a lot of the same characteristics of the G4, but there have been some useful features that have been taken off. Things like the side fins, as well as a lot of the accessories it used to regularly come with.
Having said that, I have noticed that from time to time the Nixy Newport G5 does knock off the charges of the add-on accessories that originally came with the G4 series, so check back often because they are more than worth it.
In my opinion, Nixy makes some of the best accessories in the game, with a well-thought-out bag, one of the lightest/high-quality paddles that comes with the board. The pump is also one of the best manual ones I have used, as well would a dual chamber triple action design that helps you pump out more volume of air.
You can see the Full Nixy Newport G5 Review here.
Pros
- Great starter board that grows with you
- Ideal for small to medium paddlers
- Board is very manueverable
- Accessories Nixy makes are top-notch
Cons
- Does not always come with accessories
- I personally liked the G4 a bit more
6. Bluefin Cruise Carbon 10’8” (Double Chamber Pick)
Features:
- Length: 10’8″X 32”X 6”
- Weight: 31.6 lbs
- Maximum Capacity: 400 lbs
- Materials: Military-grade PVC with laminated finish
Total Score 8.4 (Averages of Below Scores)
- On-Water Performance – 8.25
- Stability: 8.5
- Tracking: 8.5
- Speed: 8
- Maneuverability: 8
- SUP Construction – 9.5
- Board Features – 8.6
- Deck Pad: 9
- D Rings: 8
- Deck Bungees: 8

- Accessories – 8.1
- Backpack: 8
- Paddle: 8
- Pump: 8
- Fins: 8.5
- Set-Up/ Take Down – 7.5
The Bluefin Cruise Carbon is unique on this list because it has dual inflatable chambers built into it to give it extra rigidity. There is much debate in the ISUP community about dual inflatable chambers, but Bluefin is a name that has been around for years, so they have had years of perfecting this design.
This is meant to be the premium version of the Cruise SUP, and in my experience, it does feel more stable in the water compared to the regular Cruise paddle board. The Cruise Carbon comes is 3 different sizes, the 10’8”, 12’, and 15’ SUPs. The 10’8” (pictured above) is for all-around use and is meant to be for all skill levels.
The Cruise Carbon comes with a bag, paddle, 3 fins, and a dual chamber pump. Personally I do feel the bag is a bit bulky and does not “sit right” compared to other SUPs in the bag. But it is a solid package overall that you will get longevity out of.
All Bluefin paddle boards come with a 5-year warranty on manufacturing defects. Which is one of the longer ones in the industry
You can see the Full Bluefin Cruise Carbon Review here.
Pros
- The board is stable for most-sized paddlers
- The deckpad is super grippy and feels nice
- The dual-chamber design creates more rigidity
Cons
- It is more expensive than the Cruise for minor details
- Not the biggest fan of the bag that comes with the board, as the SUP doesn’t sit right in it
7. Bluefin Cruise 10’8” (All Around Pick)
Features:
- Dimensions: 10’8” X 33” X 6”
- Weight: 27 Lbs
- Maximum Capacity: 287 Lbs
- Material: 1000 Denier Exo Surface Laminate PVC & Pro Weave Drop Stitch
Total Score 8.3 (Averages of Below Scores)
- On-Water Performance – 8.1
- Stability: 8
- Tracking: 8.5
- Speed: 8
- Maneuverability: 8
- SUP Construction – 9
- Board Features – 8
- Deck Pad: 9
- D Rings: 7.5
- Deck Bungees: 7
- Action Mounts: 8
- Handles: 8.5
- Accessories – 8.1
- Backpack: 8
- Paddle: 8
- Pump: 7.5
- Fins: 9
- Set-Up/ Take Down – 8
The Bluefin Cruise is a solid board for most paddler alike and offers a 5-year warranty on all of their SUPs. While this is a heavier board, it is stiff and offers a solid crocodile grip (no crocs were harmed in the making of this SUP) deck pad, which is great because it gives your feet noticeably more grip onboard.
The Cruise, much like the Cruise Ultra CX by iRocker, does a lot of the on-water metrics well, but does not stick out in any specific area. I like to call those “Jack of All Trades” paddle boards.
What I do like is that this SUP gives you 3 clip-on fins that allow you to tweak the on-water performance of the board. Want better tracking? Add the side fins. Want better maneuverability? Just add the center fin!
The Bluefin Cruise comes at a solid price point and has been redesigned for 2025. I do notice that they have overhauled the design of their bags, which is good because, like with the Cruise Carbon, I wasn’t a massive fan of the 2023 -2024 spec bags.
You can see the Full Bluefin Cruise Review here.
Pros
- Solid All Around board with a good 5-year warranty
- The deck pad is very grippy, which I like
- The board performs well in calm water conditions
Cons
- Limited Bungee deck rigging onboard
- I was not a massive fan of the paddle and noticed the adjusting feature kept coming loose when I first got the board
8. BOTE Low Rider 10’6” (Kayak Hybrid Pick)
Features
- Dimensions: 10’6″ x 36″ x 6″
- Weight: 30 lbs
- Max Capacity: 300 lbs
- Materials: Ultra Aero Technology
Total Score: 7.9 (Averages of Below Scores)
- On-Water Performance – 8.1
- Stability 9.5
- Tracking 7
- Speed 7
- Maneuverability 9
- SUP Construction – 7.5
- Board Features – 8.2
- Deck Pad 9
- D Rings 8.5
- Deck Bungees 8
- Action Mounts: 7.5
- Handles 8
- Accessories – 7.6
- Kayak Conversion Kit 9
- Backpack 8
- Paddle 8
- Pump 7
- Fins 7.5
- Set-Up/ Take Down – 8
The BOTE LowRider is probably the most comfortable kayak hybrid I have ever paddled on, and that’s thanks to BOTE’s brilliant seat design that comes with the board.
BOTE’s seat honestly feels like a recliner and makes you question how anything so comfortable can be on a kayak or a paddleboard. The seat has 2 chambers for the seat and seat back, in which the seat is angled upwards to take all of the pressure off of your legs. Which is something many plush paddle board seats cannot offer.
The board is one of the more stable ones on the list, with a massive 36” width and a wider shape. It also has a deckpad that spans the entire board, which could make it an underrated SUP yoga pick. The maneuverability of this board is impressive, although I would say this would not be an ideal long-distance pick due to the wider width of this SUP.
The Lowrider comes with a good amount of accessories, including a kayak seat, a SUP paddle with kayak attachment, a pump, a fin, and a big wheeled bag that can actually hold everything together. It should be noted that this package is the type that you store in the garage because it is pretty substantial in size when all of the accessories are together with it.
You can see the Full BOTE LowRider Review here.
Pros
- Very stable board both in kayak and SUP formation
- Very comfortable kayak seat that gives a recliner feeling
- Full deckpad covers the entire deck, good for yoga, small passengers, etc
Cons
- The package can be considered to be pricey
- This is a very bulky package
9. Retrospec Weekender Plus 2 10’6”(Budget Pick)
Features
- Dimensions: 10’6” x 33” x 6”
- Weight: 23 Lbs
- Maximum Capacity: 300 Lbs
- Materials Used: AerGlide-Fusion PVC
Total Score 7.83 (Averages of Below Scores)

- Board Features – 7.4
- Deck Pad 7

- Accessories – 7.5
- Backpack 7
- Paddle 7.5
- Pump 7.5
- Fins 8
- Kayak Conversion Kit 8.5
- Set-Up/ Take Down – 8
This was one of the more surprising SUPs I have tested, which really gives you the complete package for a tremendous value. Don’t let the rating fool you, this board offers great value and solid on-water performance for most paddlers who are new to paddleboarding.
The board comes complete with a kayak seat, kayak paddle attachment, shoulder strap, bag, pump, slide-in fins, and various other odds and ends included. Are these the best accessories I have ever tested? No, however, for the price of the board, you do get a lot out of it.
For one, I found the seat to be fairly comfy, and it gives you that versatility to turn this package into a fully fledged kayak hybrid package. I also found the board to be surprisingly stable due to the board’s overall rounded shape. It won’t be the quickest board, but it certainly is a fantastic pick if you are looking for a recreational board.
You can see the Full Retrospec Weekender Plus 2 Review here.
Pros
- The most Value out of any of the picks in the list based on price
- The kayak seat is comfortable to use in a kayak formation
- The board is stable in both SUP and kayak formations
- The 3 slide-in fins help this board track
Cons
- While you get a lot of accessories, their quality is about what you’d expect for its price point
- The bag could have more room in it, it’s a tight squeeze
- Bag quality isn’t anything to write home about
10. BOTE Easy Rider 10’4″ (Short Pick)
Features
- Dimensions: 10’4″ x 36″ x 6″
- Weight: 30 lbs
- Max Capacity: 250 lbs
- Materials: Ultra Aero Technology
Total Score 7.7 (Averages of Below Scores)
- On-Water Performance – 7.9

- Maneuverability 9
- SUP Construction – 7.5
- Board Features – 7.8
- Deck Pad 8.5

- Action Mounts: 7
- Handles 8
- Accessories – 7.3
- Kayak Conversion Kit 9
- Backpack 7.5
- Paddle 7
- Pump 7
- Fins 7.5
- Set-Up/ Take Down – 8
The BOTE Easy Rider is the shortest pick on this list and is the budget version of the Low Rider. However, it still has that comfortable chair, which makes it hard to leave this board off the list!
Because the Easy Rider is the budget version of the LowRider, it does not have the little details like the full-length deck pad, BOTE slide-in mounts, the bungee deck webbing on the rear, and the bag with wheels. It is still a solid board and much like the LowRider it offers a very stable platform to stand and sit on. Perfect for first-time paddlers.
The Easy Rider can be used to have a small passenger onboard; however, be mindful of the board’s 250 lb maximum capacity. It’s best to at most be within 20% of that mark so that you do not complicate the board’s on-water performance.
You can see the Full BOTE Easy Rider Review here.
Pros
- Very stable board for most paddlers
- Very comfortable seat that comes with the package
- Offers most of the main features that make the LowRider appealing
Cons
- The package is big and bulky
- Not the best board for loading with weight
- Not an ideal board for traveling long distances due to its width
