The Skylla is the top pick in the 11’ to 11’6” category for a few reasons. It’s a very stable board, it offers a lot of on-board features and comes with a great accessory kit, and it also has an eye-poppingly beautiful design. In this case, the Skylla 11 CX version we tested was the Drew Brophy Edition.

While this board does look a bit more like a touring SUP because of the pointed nose, its on-water characteristics match more of an all-around board. From kneeling to standing, the transition feels quite smooth on this board, which was one of the things I was not fully expecting. This makes it a great SUP for paddlers of all skill levels.

The Skylla CX isn’t the best tracking board on this list, but it does have one of the better maneuverability numbers out there for an all-around SUP of its size.

Lastly, I really liked the accessories bundle that comes with this board. It comes with a heavy-duty bag that has lots of room, handles, and wheels, a good tear-drop shaped carbon hybrid paddle, dual chamber triple action pump, and a set-up mat. All very useful things that you would like to come with the board to make your life just that bit easier.

On top of all of this, the Skylla CX comes with a 5-8 year warranty, which is one of the better ones for inflatable paddle boards. The warranty is dependent on the lifetime of the product itself.

You can see the Full Sea Gods Skylla CX Review Here.

Pros

  • Stable in the water making it great for most skill levels
  • Had solid maneuverability
  • Sea Gods makes very high quality boards
  • 5 – 8 Year warranty
  • Amazing designs on these boards

Cons

  • Board can be consider to be more expensive
  • It looks like a touring board but it does not track like one on the water

2. Nixy Monterey 11’6” (Touring Pick)

This is the G4, The G5 has a few differnet features

The Monterey is a board for the add-on accessory enthusiast. This board acts as a hybrid between a touring board and an all-around SUP. It should be noted that the model I tested was the Monterey G4, the new version of which is now the G5, while it lost a couple of small features like side fins, extra action mounts, it is still a solid board for bigger/ taller paddlers who want to feel comfortable onboard.

One of the bigger changes in the fact that the Monterey lost the dual chamber and now has a single chamber. While I did appreciate the extra rigidity the extra chamber provided, it was a bit unnatural and made weird bumps in the board where which made you have to slightly re-position your feet. In a kneeling stance, you also had to widen your knees so that they weren’t on an uneven surface.

The new Monterey G5 sometimes comes with accessories in the package. If it does, I say grab it. The website will show the add-on accessories at a $0 charge.

The accessories are some of my favorites in the ISUP world, as the bag is well-made and organized, the paddle is super lightweight and feels nice to paddle (sometimes it’s my go-to paddle). The pump is also one of my favorites as it’s a dual-chamber triple-action pump. Which means that you can pump more air out in the beginning with the 2 chambers and then adjust the setting to one chamber when the pumping gets harder.

You can see the Full Nixy Monterey G4 Review Here.

Pros

  • Offers good stability
  • If the accessories come with the package, my advice is to grab it
  • Great board for paddling long distances with
  • I like the placement of the deck bungees

Cons

  • Some onboard features, like an extra row of bungee deck webbing and onboard action mounts, have been stripped off
  • I liked the G4’s 3-fin setup better, as you can tweak the board’s tracking and maneuverability

3. iRocker All Around 11’ Ultra (Compact Pick)

Features

  • Dimensions: 11′ X 32” X 6”
  • Weight: 21.4 Lbs
  • Max Capacity: 290 Lbs
  • Materials: Cross Thread Drop Stitch

Total Score: 8.7 / 10 (Accumulated Scores of Below)

  • On-Water Performance – 8.1
    • Stability 8
    • Tracking  8
    • Speed 8.5
    • Maneuverability 8
  • SUP Construction – 9
  • Board Features  – 8.6
    • Deck Pad 9
    • D Rings 8.5
    • Deck Bungees 8.5
    • Action Mounts: 7.5
    • Handles 9
  • Accessories – 8.6
    • Backpack 9.5
    • Paddle 7.5
    • Pump 9
    • Fins 8.5
  • Set-Up/ Take Down – 9

If you are looking for a compact 11’ board to fit in your trunk or closet for storage, the All Around 11 is a great candidate. The board folds in half vertically so that the board can be folded in a more compact package. This does make the SUP wider, but you save space on valuable length on not just the SUP but the bag as well.

The board itself is very lightweight and offers solid maneuverability in the water. It won’t be the most stable SUP on this list, but the iRocker has made efforts each year to make this board more stable for its riders over the past couple of years.

Because it is one of the lightest boards on this list, it offers good acceleration in the water and is a decent candidate for some of those longer day paddles.

The package comes with a 4-piece paddle, a compact bag that can fit in most car trunks, and a pouch that houses fins, instructions, and an electric pump! That’s right, this SUP comes with an electric pump!

In my opinion, electric pumps make life so much easier and they also give you more time to organize, putting stuff like bags, etc, back in the car, figuring out what you are bringing to the water, etc.

You can see the Full iRocker All Around 11 Ultra Review here.

Pros

  • The board is quick in the water
  • Solid choice for many different types of environments
  • It is compact and can fit in most trunks or closets
  • The package comes with an electric pump, which in the end makes life easier for you

Cons

  • Tracking performance could be better
  • The original All Around 11 board feels more stable

4. Blackfin XL 6.0 11’6” (Stability Pick)

Features

  • Dimensions: 11’6 X 34” X 6”
  • Weight: 29 Lbs
  • Maxi Capacity: 485 Lbs
  • Materials: Military Grade Triple Layer PVC w/ Carbon Rails

Total Rating: 8.4 / 10 (Accumulated Ratings Below)

  • On-Water Performance – 8.1
    • Stability 9
    • Tracking  8
    • Speed 7.5
    • Maneuverability 8
  • SUP Construction – 9
  • Board Features  – 8.9
    • Deck Pad 8
    • D Rings 8.5
    • Deck Bungees 9
    • Action Mounts: 9.5
    • Handles 9.5
  • Accessories – 8
    • Backpack
    • Paddle
    • Pump
    • Fins 8
  • Set-Up/ Take Down 8

If you want a solid board that feels like it’s built like a TANK, then the Blackfin XL 6.0 is probably the board you are looking for. The board is very rigid and offers fantastic stability for almost any paddler thanks to its wide 34” width and long 11’6” frame.

On top of all of this, it also makes a great fishing pick thanks to its multiple action mounts that can hold fishing rods, and its Scotty Mounts, which can add any racks that can be supported by Scotty Mounts. You can turn this SUP into the ultimate fish stalker with the possibility of having over 6 rods on this board, not including the Scotty Mounts.

The board is also very stable to cast off of and does not provide you with any wobbles, which other shorter width boards may from time to time. You can also stash a good amount of cargo onboard thanks to the 3 rows of bungee deck webbing at the front and rear of the board. There are also 4 D rings in the middle of the board to support more cargo, like coolers or a kayak seat.

What makes this board special is the fact that it also has good glide and can support another passenger, thanks to its 485 lb maximum capacity. You could even have 2 adults on here and use it as a tandem paddleboard if both adults weigh under 200 lbs.

You can see the Full Blackfin XL 6.0 Review here.

Pros

  • The board is supremely stable in the water
  • Very heavy duty (RIP my pinkie toe, I stubbed on it)
  • A fantastic board for tandem or fishing use
  • Glides well for a board of its weight

Cons

  • One of the heavier boards on this list
  • It can be a bit on the pricey end of SUPs

5. BOTE HD Aero 11’6” (Fishing Pick)

Features

  • Dimensions: 11’6” X 34” X 6”
  • Weight: 30 lbs
  • Max Capacity: 315 lbs
  • Materials: AeroBOTE Technology

Total Rating: 8.4 / 10 (Accumulated Ratings Below)

  • On-Water Performance – 8.1
    • Stability 9.5
    • Tracking  8
    • Speed 7
    • Maneuverability 8
  • SUP Construction – 9
  • Board Features  – 8.5
    • Deck Pad 8.5
    • D Rings 9
    • Deck Bungees 8.5
    • Action Mounts: 8
    • Handles 8.5
  • Accessories – 7.6
    • Backpack 7.5
    • Paddle 8
    • Pump 7.5
    • Fins 7.5
  • Set-Up/ Take Down – 8

The BOTE HD Aero is the top fishing pick due to the company it comes from. BOTE specializes in making fishing SUPs, and many of their premium boards come with capabilities for BOTE accessories such as the Kula Cooler, Fishing Rack capabilities, and paddle holders.

There is also a magnepod on the board, which is a magnetic holder that you can hold magnepod drinks onboard, making sure drinks don’t fall off.

The BOTE HD Aero is a very stable board, which also gives it that plus one for fishermen alike. When paddling it on the Nicomekl River, I found it to be a fantastic cruiser board for a nice, calm, sunny afternoon.

It should be noted, though, that the board is heavy due to the onboard accessories included, like the paddle sheath holder (holds your paddle while you are casting). As well as the Aero BOTE technology, which I believe to be a dual-layer PVC layering.

The BOTE HD Aero comes in many different packages that may include other fishing-related accessories like Fishing Racks, Kula coolers, etc.

You can see the Full BOTE HD Aero Review here.

Pros

  • The board has fantastic stability
  • Offers the ability to house a lot of fishing-related accessories
  • Lots of different varieties and packages are available
  • Great board for bigger/ Taller folks

Cons

  • Doesn’t include a leash in their packages
  • If you are looking for a compact SUP, this is not it

6. Atoll 11 (Budget Pick)

me paddling Atoll

Features

  • Dimensions: 11’ x 32″ x 6″
  • Weight: 21 lbs
  • Max Capacity: 400 lbs

Total Rating: 8.2 / 10 (Accumulated Ratings Below)

  • On-Water Performance: 8.5
    • Stability: 9
    • Tracking: 8
    • Speed: 8
    • Maneuverability: 8
  • SUP Construction: 9
  • Board Features: 8
    • Deck Pad: 8.5
    • D Rings: 9
    • Deck Bungees: 7.5

  • Accessories: 7.5
    • Backpack: 7
    • Paddle: 7
    • Pump: 7
    • Fins: 8
  • Set-Up/ Take Down: 8

Don’t let the rating fool you, the Atoll 11 is a fantastic SUP for almost all level paddlers. It can be a fantastic beginner paddle board or can be used as an expedition SUP or even a multi-day traveling SUP. This board is lightweight and super stable, which honestly surprised me when I first tested this SUP.

The stakes were high as I tested this SUP in March in rather cool temperatures. Overall, the SUP was very impressive as I was sceptical at first, but the stability was probably the biggest thing that stood out about this board. I can see paddlers of various skill sets doing different activities such as yoga, fishing, etc.

Going from kneeling to standing felt really good, and I never felt any of those “wobbles” that you may potentially feel on other boards of similar dimensions. Even while I was doing harder strokes and different maneuverability turns for my on-water tests.

The Atoll 11 does not come with all the fancy accessories like some of the other SUPs do, but it does come with an affordable price point, which makes sense for most new paddlers. And honestly, for the stability and versatility this SUP provides, it is very worth it.

You can see the Full Atoll 11 Review Here.

Pros

  • Great SUP to get for those on a budget
  • Very durable and has been used for multi-day trips
  • A great board for those who want a simple board layout
  • Great board for taller/ bigger paddlers to feel stable on

Cons

  • Accessories that come with the board are nothing special
  • I found this board is a bit more affected by wind and tides compared to others due to light lightweight

7. Thursosurf WaterWalker 132 (All Around Pick)

Features

  • Dimensions: 11’ x 32″ x 6″
  • Weight: 25.3 lbs
  • Max Capacity: 330 lbs
  • Materials: Dual-layer fusion, knitted drop-stitch core

Total Rating: 8.2 / 10 (Accumulated Ratings Below)

  • On-Water Performance – 8.4
    • Stability 8
    • Tracking 8
    • Speed 8.5
    • Maneuverability 9
  • SUP Construction – 8
  • Board Features – 7.8
    • Deck Pad 9
    • D Rings 8
    • Deck Bungees 8
    • Action Mounts: 7
    • Handles 7
  • Accessories – 8.4
    • Backpack 7.5
    • Paddle 8.5
    • Pump 9
    • Fins 8.5
  • Set-Up/ Take Down – 8

The Thursosurf Water Walker blends all of the on-water performance metrics we rate (stability, speed, tracking, and maneuverability) very well, making it a solid board for paddlers who are starting or want to go longer distances.

It’s also a very versatile SUP for a variety of different environments such as lakes, coastal waters, and slow-moving rivers. You can use this SUP in some smaller waves, but it won’t be the most stable SUP on this list.

The Thursosurf Water Walker 132 offers a solid accessory package including a pouch and a snap-in fin system. The bag is also well made and the board has its unique wood-grained look, which makes the board look distinctive.

I also personally liked the deck padding and the paddle that came with the board, which felt sturdy in the water. The bag isn’t necessarily my favorite out of the ISUPs, but it does the job, and it does offer wheels, which is always a big plus when hauling a SUP bag around.

You can See the Full Thursosurf Water Walker 132 Review here.

Pros

  • The Water Walker 132 has excellent blended on-water performance
  • Great board for many different types of environments
  • Comes with an electric pump, which is a big plus
  • The board has a beautiful design

Cons

  • The side fins can take some time to install
  • The bag is not my favorite as it does not feel as heavy-duty as others

8. Body Glove Performer 11 (Popular Pick)

Features

  • Dimensions: 11’ x 34″ x 5.4″
  • Weight: 24 lbs
  • Max Capacity: 320 lbs
  • Materials: Three-layer PVC Construction

Total Rating: 7.5 / 10 (Accumulated Ratings Below)

  • On-Water Performance – 7.75
    • Stability 8
    • Tracking 7
    • Speed 7.5
    • Maneuverability 8.5
  • SUP Construction – 7
  • Board Features  – 7.7
    • Deck Pad 8
    • D Rings 6.5
    • Deck Bungees 8
    • Action Mounts: 7
    • Handle 9
  • Accessories – 7.5
    • Backpack 7
    • Paddle 7.5
    • Pump 8
    • Fins 7.5
  • Set-Up/ Take Down – 7.5

This is probably the board you have seen the most at your local paddling hotspots. Whether it’s the beach, a lake, or a coastal paddling spot. You see these boards everywhere! They are popular because of their cheap price point, which you can get from Costco.

While I have seen many Body Glove generations over the years, these aren’t necessarily the best-made SUPs. Firstly, they are 5.4” thick which skimps out on the rigidity that 6” usually provides.

When I tested this board, I felt that it was stable but a bit bendy. You could feel the board wobble more which creates a bit more of an unstable feeling, especially when you have a wave coming by

The board also is not the best tracking SUP, especially when I compared it to the Gili Meno XL 11’6” (great board but currently not available on Gili) and the Nixy Monterey. Having said that, it is a maneuverable board, so if you are paddling in tighter quarters, it’s not a bad pick to have.

The package that comes with this SUP is relatively simple, but what is nice is that the 2023 boards and onwards did come with an electric pump, which is ideal for those who want a quick and efficient set-up time.

You can see the Full Body Glove Performer 11 Review here.

Pros

  • Pretty stable in the water
  • If properly taken care of, they can last a while
  • Good maneuverability

Cons

  • Quality materials are not the same as the above
  • The board is more bendy and wobbly compared to other top picks due to its thickness and construction
  • No clearly stated Warranty on the board.
